Dr Janesh Ganda
Qualified Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician
“I completed my medical degree in 2012 at the University of Witwatersrand after which I was posted in Potchefstroom for Internship and Community service.
Following my completion, I moved back to Johannesburg to work in an emergency unit at Leratong Hospital for 6 months. During this time I started my Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine through UCT. I have since completed all course work and exams and I am currently working to complete my thesis.
I have worked with a number of professional rugby and football teams such as the Boland Cavaliers, Western Province Rugby, Cape Town City Football Club and Stellenbosch FC. In 2018 I was appointed as the Team Physician for the Springbok Womens team as they embarked on their tour to Europe to play three international test matches.
In 2019 I was appointed as the Team Physician for the Junior Springbok team, as they prepared for the Junior World Cup in Argentina and the SA Schools side during their U18 International series, which saw them win all three games played.”
Janesh worked at Cape Sports Medicine in Sports Science since 2016 under the wing of Dr’s Jason Suter, Jeroen Swarts and Leigh Gordon, which saw him gain a wealth of experience in the Sports and Exercise Medicine sphere. In July 2019, Janesh started his own private practice in Stellenbosch and at the Sports Rehab Centre in Observatory as a dedicated Sports Physician, working closely with the rehab team to give a high performance product to the elite athlete as well as the weekend warrior.
